Oklahoma state officials have been trying to protect the Ten Commandments monument on the grounds of the State Capitol ever since the state’s Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional back in June.

Yesterday, a judge announced he wasn’t putting up with the state officials’ bullshit any longer, telling them they had until October 12 to take down the monument.
District Judge Thomas Prince handed down the order Friday and gave state officials until October 12 to take down the 6-foot-tall granite monument.
It’s unclear where the monument will go or what the punishment will be if state officials don’t comply. Still, it’s the right decision. Attorney General Scott Pruitt has prolonged this enough. Now it’s time for him to obey the law he swore to uphold.
