Pat Robertson said on The 700 Club today that Christian grandparents should do all they can to send their grandson to a private religious school if his atheist parents aren’t introducing him to Jesus.
You should be [worried for your grandson’s soul]. If there’s any way you can get that child away from that… his father telling him that… If there’s any way you can get him enrolled in a Christian school or get him into some, you know, they have daily Vacation Bible School and things. Or youth group.
There’s all kinds of things you could do to kind of get him into some positive influences.
As if atheist parents are automatically bad influences on their children.
Of course, if an atheist grandparent ever suggested taking a child out of a religious school and away from his religious parents, you can bet Robertson and his colleagues would be crying “Christian persecution.”
Maybe someone can bring that up in a letter to the show. It seems to be the only way to get through to him.
