There was a massive heat wave in India over the past couple of months, killing over 2,000 people. But you’ll be pleased to know that The Tide global radio ministry has found a way to help the suffering people: They’re giving them radios so they can hear all about Jesus:
Don Shenk, director of The Tide global radio ministry, reports that temperatures in southern India rose to 116 degrees Fahrenheit during the heat wave, and the people hit hardest were were living in villages.
The ministry is teaming with church planters and pastors to provide radios that broadcast Christian programming in the heart languages of the villagers.
“We’re working with them to develop a program that they’ll be able to use to reach out and sort of to be that first advance into people’s lives to let them hear the good news on the radio,” Shenk tells OneNewsNow.
So while the people are dying from heat, they’ll get to hear the sweet, sweet sounds of someone reminding them of the (second) hellfire awaiting them if they don’t accept Jesus in their lives.
I’m sure the Hindus appreciate it.
It brings to mind another story we posted about a few days ago about Michael Marcavage, the Christian evangelist who believes Iraqi refugees need bibles far more than they do food and shelter.
