I’m pretty sure “Christian Baker” ranks just above “Comcast Manager” on the list of Least Liked People in America. But Rev. Drew Ludwig, the pastor at Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church, is trying to change that tonight.
Rather than refuse to bake cakes for gay couples, he’s putting together a #ChristianCakeMob, baking and passing out cupcakes outside several gay-friendly bars in Buffalo tonight:

While the Indiana governor signed an amended version of the act, Ludwig said he still didn’t like the idea that some would consider it un-Christian to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding.
“Well, how can I get the message out there? How can we counter this assumption?” Ludwig said.
…
“This isn’t about having an argument, or even inviting people to church. We’re just going to pass out cake,” said Ludwig. “Christianity is about providing service, not denying it.”
Credit where it’s due, people. That’s awesome. Even if you’re cynical and see it as nothing more than a publicity stunt, it’s still a nice gesture.
If you’re in the area, you can still donate or volunteer to help here.
(Thanks to Cynthia for the link. This post originally said the event was taking place in Brooklyn; it’s been corrected to Buffalo)
