Christian and Muslim militias have been battling each other in the Central African Republic since 2012. First, a group of Muslim combatants called the Seleka started an aggressive trek into Christian areas, and the Christians in turn organized their own armed rebel force, the Antibalaka, which quickly morphed from a defensive civilian army into a genocidal horde that wants to eliminate Muslims from the country of 4.5 million people.
The Christian fighters have been especially successful, if you define success by the scope of the destruction.
Via the Associated Press:
Almost all of the 436 mosques in the Central African Republic have been destroyed by months of vicious fighting between Christians and Muslims, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said.
Samantha Power spoke to reporters on Tuesday after a Security Council visit last week to the country, calling the devastation “kind of crazy, chilling”. …
Power said 417 of the country’s mosques have been destroyed. She visited the one remaining Muslim neighbourhood in the capital, Bangui, and described the residents as “a terrified population.”
Theodore Shoebat, the Christian author of In Satan’s Footsteps: The Source and Interconnections of All Evil, is not the least bit disturbed (a chip off the old block, he’s the son of the notorious fibbing Christianist Walid Shoebat). Theodore, in fact, is excited, and lauds the murdering zealots, because zealotry in the name of Christ is… a great blessing.
This is not just some mere scrimmages here and there, but fierce and bloody battles, that will eventually grow into a major struggle. This is the division that Christ has brought, the sword that compels man to split like the red sea, and fight either for the forces of evil or for the foundations of Heaven.
When Christ spoke of the sword, He was foretelling of the coming of crusades caused by the persecuting hatred of evil heretics, wherein men take up their crosses to war against those who hate that holy image. They charge passed the bastions of darkness, and like reapers to the harvest, bring much bread. The Spirit of Crusade never died, it has only been ignored, and it will continue on gloriously until the Final Crusade, when Baal shall bow and Nebo shall stoop. … The victor of this cultural war which we are in, will be the ones who will bring about the strongest, most zealous, and effective crusade. Therefore, in order for Christianity to prevail, zealots must rise.
Of course, secularists come in for a drubbing (pro tip: when discussing faith-fueled genocide in Africa, don’t forget to implicate Western agnostics!):
It is told to us over and over again, “Do not impose your religion on me!” But everywhere we look and turn we are being called to the altar of conformity, and urged to never speak of Christianity. … Christian supremacy has been dismantled, zealotry trampled, and the soft despotism of secular and tolerance supremacy has been put on the altar and praised as the nation’s new god.
But mostly, Shoebat decries “weak” Christians who simply lack the will to knock some heads together — and not just proverbially.
Many current Christians ask why God demands His people to be so aggressive toward heathenism in the Old Testament, and the answer to their question is right in front of us. … The rise of Islam is determined by the conviction of the Church. If the Church is weak, Islam is strong, and if the Church is supreme, Islam goes dormant and Muslims care no more on the teachings of Muhammad. When Christ is exalted then Allah is disdained; and when God is elevated above all things, that is when the Cross shall overpower the Crescent, and the wicked prevented from ever establishing tyranny. Christus Vincit!
It’s so easy! Just kiss your crucifix and slaughter harder, and all will be well.
Meanwhile, in the Central African Republic, nearly one million people are displaced, at least 5,000 people have been killed, more than 400 mosques (and no doubt many churches) lay in ruins, and there is still no end in sight.
