Hip-hop artist Azealia Banks (below), who is as well-known for her Twitter feuds as she is her music, is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Playboy. In the interview, she offers an… um… illuminating take on atheism:
I don’t understand how someone could be an atheist. Think about God as software, right? If you were to look at God’s face, your head would explode. Because your head is a calculator, and the amount of information that would be embedded in his face would fit only on a Google-size data center. Your head cannot handle that much information. Stop looking for God.
To translate: God makes no sense. God is too big to comprehend. Don’t look God directly in the eye. No one can understand the workings of God.
… And what the hell is up with atheists?
Who knew it took that many words to say “Ignorance is bliss”?
I know this has been said before, but the only way God is like software is that when most people use Him, they simply scroll to the bottom of the terms and conditions and click “I agree.” They have no idea what they’re signing up for; they just assume it has to be good.
At least software doesn’t work in mysterious ways.
Can’t wait for Banks to call me out on Twitter.
