Because Kansas isn’t screwed up enough yet, check out Gov. Sam Brownback‘s latest nominee to the state Court of Appeals, Kathryn Gardner (below):

… Brownback’s latest Court of Appeals appointee, who faces her first confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, lectured and studied at the conservative law group Alliance Defending Freedom.
…
The Alliance Defending Freedom did not respond to a request for comment, but the group’s website describes it as “an alliance-building legal organization that advocates for the right of people to freely live out their faith.” The site says the group advocates and litigates against “radical anti-Christian groups,” spreading what it calls the “myth” of the separation of church and state.
Because what Kansas needs in a position of legal power is someone who thinks separation of church and state is a myth and who likely thinks the Bigotry Map depicts actual bigotry.
If appointed, she would be one step away from the State Supreme Court.
