For more than a year now, I’ve been posting videos from Chris Johnson who has been working on a multimedia book about atheists called A Better Life: 100 Atheists Speak Out on Joy & Meaning in a World Without God.
That book, which is now available for pre-order, will be released on January 1.

I decided to travel through the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom and put together a book of photographic portraits. From the airline pilot, to the musician, I wanted to document my fellow atheists and ask them what brings meaning and joy to their lives. The goal of the book was to visually capture the diversity of non-believers and the ways they maintain a better life, not in spite of their atheism, but because of it.
You can get a glimpse of the pages of the book on Chris’ site. It looks absolutely beautiful. More than something you set on a coffee table and never look at again, it’s the sort of book that makes you want to meet the people you’re reading about because they’re just so welcoming and happy. I was thrilled to be a part of it and I can’t wait for this project, two years in the making, to finally come to fruition.
