Who needs a giggle?
[Opens with sad piano music]
Man: Hey honey! How are ya?
Woman: Fine. I guess.
Man: What’s going on?
Woman: Well, Obama is trying to force gay marriage on this country. That’s not the change I voted for. Marriage is between a man and a woman.
Man: That’s not the change I voted for either.
Woman: What can we do?
[Sudden weirdly upbeat music]
Man: We can vote for someone with values.
The emotionally manipulative music! The weird cut-away to to the coffee mug! The acting! The procurement of the word “values”!
I tried to find out more about the Campaign for American Values Super PAC but their website is literally only this video and a blue banner with a bald eagle on it. So… I guess they like America.
After some snooping, I found out that that ad seems to have cost $28,150. Money well spent, says I!
My favorite part was the creepy stilted delivery of these two lines:
“Fine. I guess.” (She really called to mind a sullen, passive aggressive teen!)
“That’s… not… the change I voted for either.” (“Umm… I’m doing some acting here so I should pause in weird spots, right? That’s what acting is!”)
What’s your favorite part?
