    Love it.

Scary thing? A good chunk of the people I grew up with wouldn’t have a problem with that image, and would in fact have positive associations.

  • Lol, it’s a 3rd level Paladin. He will now attack the darkness!

     That’s wizards you’re thinking of 😛

Paladins tell you about their 36th level paladins.

I just applied for a job with Thrivent. It's a religious financial institution with 75 billion in assets, and because it’s associated with a the Lutheran church, it qualifies as not for profit, and tax exempt.  I doubt I will get the job, although qualified, because I didn’t have any “congregation volunteer work”, which is kinda hard for me to have any, seeing as how I am an atheist.  Regardless, what struck me was this company is a company, like any other financial one out there, a Fortune 500 company, but because of its religious orientation, it is exempt from many of the US taxes.

One other thought, regarding the cartoon itself.  The bag of money the Christian soldier is defending should be the entire size of the panel, and not something that only comes up to his knee.  Dave Silverman (President of American Atheists) recently stated that the tax exempt status of religious organizations should end, and I heartily agree.
