Speaking in Madison, Wisconsin This Weekend

This weekend is the Freethought Festival 2012 in Madison, Wisconsin — it’s free of charge, there are *tons* of awesome speakers there, and it’s getting some good local press:

I’m giving a talk on high school atheists Saturday afternoon, but you’ll want to be there for as much of this conference as you can. (Don’t forget to register if you’re coming!)

I’ll admit, I’m a bit nervous. Did you see who I’m following?!

Lunch!

I’m screwed.

After this, I’m taking a travel break for the next month, sleeping in on weekends, finishing up my grad school class, and sleeping in some more.

I’ll be there and will be attending the speaker luncheon as well!

I am in the awkward position of encouraging people to do something that is not attending your talk.  You see, from 1-3 p.m. tomorrow, there is a massive rally planned on the Capitol regarding women’s rights.

I am torn between thinking that your talk (as well as the other two) are really good and useful ways to spend time – and encouraging people to attend a political rally that affects freethought and women’s interests.

I’ll probably try to double-dip; no offense intended.  I think both are worthwhile and I hope I get to see you talk.

You did an amazing job on Saturday!  I brought my high school daughter with me and she said your speech was her favorite.

  • Thanks, Carrie! I appreciate it 🙂
