‘All About Vaccines’ Charity Event to Take Place in Okanagan, British Columbia

The folks at CFI-Okanagan (Canada) are hosting an event to educate their community about the importance of vaccines, and 100% of the proceeds from the event will go to the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative.

The event takes place on April 22nd, all the information you need is right here, and you should buy your tickets in advance (it’s free but the donations go to the IAVI).

Show them some support and save some lives in the process!

  • This is cool – first time I’ve seen such an event. It might be better marketing for them to include a picture of a cute baby though, rather than a needle ! (and not just to fit Hemant’s tastes :-))

What’s terribly sad though, is that my first thought upon reading the title of the post was “All about Vaccines… hmm  as in ‘The Truth’?  Must be an anti-vax group spreading their propaganda.”  But now that institutions of ignorance have been allowed to co-opt the word “Truth” and paste their ugly logos all over it, they’ve robbed the word of the power it once had and left us no way to express one of humanity’s most important concepts.

We need to take that word back!

Way to nearly make me piss myself when I load the blog! That needle is the Sydney Funnel-Web of inoculations.

As much as I would lobe to go to the Okanagan see this and get some big ass cherries it’s a bit out of the way.

  • I heard they got some big-shot FTBer to moderate this thing. Waste of money, if you ask me: those Freethought cats are a bunch of know-nothing jerkwads!

After the event, you can take some time to look for Ogopogo.  😉

  • The people who truly need to hear this won’t go, and having the proceeds go to an AIDS vaccination campaign just gives them an excuse not to go.  I hope it will go online so it can be seen for free and potentially reach the confused.

As I like to tell the anti-vaccination kooks: Hey, I got a flu shot last year, and I haven’t “depopulated” yet.

  •  I think I’d almost rather it be a SFW, at least you can outrun/kill one of those eight-legged fuckers.
