Last Chance to Register for the Lobby Day for Reason

If you’re planning on going to the Reason Rally on Saturday, March 24th, you might also want to make plans to attend the Secular Coalition for America’s Lobby Day for Reason. It’s free, it takes place the Friday before the big event, and you’d be joining 200+ others who have already signed up!

The Lobby Day for Reason will offer secular-minded individuals a morning of free lobbying training followed by the opportunity to meet with congressional staff to discuss issues related to the separation of church and state. Lunch, snacks, and materials are included.

This event will encourage and support secular and nontheistic Americans to speak out to the elected officials who were put in office to serve all of their constituents regardless of religious beliefs. The Secular Coalition will support these taxpaying Americans as they put faces to the nontheist and secular communities and tell their federal representatives that they are voters and are paying attention to issues.

All the details are right here. The SCA would like to have lobbyists from all 50 states, but a few states are not yet represented:

… we still need secular Americans from Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

C’mon, people! Registration closes on March 1st, so get on that soon!

  • I and I’m sure the other Idahoans I’m going to the Reason Rally with would love to join in on that if it weren’t for the fact we’ll be flying over at that time.

I would definitely go and represent Wyoming at that time with my husband, but at that time we will be flying over the country as we land in D.C. Friday evening.

Do you know if there is an age requirement?  I’ll be traveling with my family, and wonder if my almost 13 year old can attend.  I think it would be a wonderful learning experience for her.

I am glad to know a border state of where I live is also flying to D.C. for that weekend. Yay for the Mountain West.

There is no age requirement as long as kids are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
