Alternatively, let’s consider Allah (The one and only God, creator and sustainer of the universe) or perhaps The Great Volcano (lest we face its terrible wrath).

Damn it I won’t stand for no liberal values in our school system. If we are to honor lord zeus then we must do it the conservative, traditional way: orgies in a temple dedicated to the lord of the heavens.

I don’t think Zeus was into orgies (at least among his worshipers). The more enthusiastic cults (in the sense of way of worshiping a particular god) might be those that followed some of the goddesses though they tended to go to both extremes (the male worshipers of Cybele sometimes castrated themselves as a sign of devotion).
Burning incense each morning to the protecting deities seems most appropriate. For a school, Minerva (or Athena if we go for the Greek or Thoth if Egyptian) seems most appropriate.

I don’t see a problem with this. At least Zeus is a God who doesn’t hide his anger – In fact, he shows it all the time, particularly in the bible belt. Now THAT’S a God!

Bacchus/Dionysus is associated with excesses – hence the word “bacchanalian”. I’m sure he’d appreciate an orgy in his honor

Yaweh used to show his anger. Flooded the whole planet and killed almost all life. Destroyed cities. Ordered the extermination of entire tribes and nations. But somehow, the most he can do today is appear on toast

I’m thinking more along the lines of Flying Spaghetti Monster…probably fund it under the school lunch program…
