    Check out Nadine Dorries’ response:
“I am not sure why anyone would admit to being a humanist and part of an organisation which has such extreme views. A humanist recently commented that, not only did he believe that abortion was acceptable right up to the moment of birth, but that termination of a child’s life was acceptable up until the point where the child had the ability to reason, understand and justify life.”

    I’m rooting for Rick Perry!

Why isn’t Harold Camping on the list?

  • Anonymous

I was just about to ask the same thing.

  • Anonymous

Wow… but in real life, does she know any humanists?  What a nutcase!

  • Jude

    So was I!

    I’m stupid.

There’s someone nominated because, among other reasons, they want to have “Sharia controlled zones” in UK cities. And there is someone nominated for, among other things, because they speak about the  “Islamisation” of Britain.

I’m voting for Rick Perry.  God, I hope that’s never taken out of context somewhere.  “Atheist determined to vote for Rick Perry.”

  • “And how can I trust you with power if you do not pray?” (Applause)

No comments feed on there?  How am I supposed to angrily demand evidence
for her ridiculous “Humanists support third-trimester abortions” claim?

  • Spencer

Doesn’t sound too unreasonable to me, but I wonder how zyr would determine that moment.

  • Timothy

Ok seriously.  How does one choose when everyone listed is a gem of bat shit insanity?  I seriously can’t make up my mind.

  • Charles Black

They should be also rewarded for giving religion a bad name. Lets face kooks like Bachmann & Perry discredit Christianity for example far more than we ever can.

  • dauntless

Unfortunately, people like that tend to galvanize other people like that.

  • Rich Wilson

Maybe we can give him a Lifetime Achievement Award.

But we have to give one to Phelps first.

Oh, and Pat Robertson for blaming just about every bad thing on God.  Most lately the exotic animals that escaped, supposedly to bite gay people…

  • My vote goes to Rick Perry but I would vote for Harold Camping if he were on the list. Not one, but TWO fraudulent prophecies in this one year and pocketing millions of dollars from his followers. Top that.

  • “If you believe in Judgement Day, then I can’t trust your judgement”

    Where’s Michelle Bachmann?

Nadine Dorres’ proposals to force women into the hands of faith heads if they were contemplating the termination of a pregancy prompted me to send an angry letter to my MP (who go an assistant to send me a standard reply disavowing himself of any involvement).  Her sex education proposals for new legislation would remove all kinds of education from it and replace it with a policy of covering your ears, squeezing your eyes tight shut and humming loudly till the topic is changed.

Her attitude to women in general is grounded in 1st century biblical ideals.  A time when women were little more than the property their fathers or husbands.  That’s why she gets my vote.

  •  Can we nominate Atheists who are guilty of talking unadulterated (and often destructive) nonsense about matters of religion?

Just asking, as they say. . .

That pompous ASS* Richard Dawkins comes to mind here. . .

    * ASS = Atheist Supremacist Spokesperson

    Or not. . .
