I Learned a New Word Today…

I have to admit that I intend to steal this and spread it amongst my atheist congregation.
My favourite facepsalm would be 1 Timothy 2:11-12: Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. I say favourite because it’s almost a guaranteed win over any female christian.

“Then he told me God sending the bears to kill the boys was OK because the real translation is teenagers, not children. I totally facepsalmed.”

  • Dan

Her hair angers me. But I support individuality.

Now… can you use it in a sentence?

The real question is whether you can use it in a sentence out loud without spitting in the face of whomever you’re talking to. “Psalm” is awkward enough to pronounce without adding another sibilant to it.

    I love BionicDance. She pwns.

  • Danielle

I agree, Dan. She’s really pretty, but her bangs are kinda annoying.

  • Who cares about bangs? Or pretty? I’ve been enjoying her videos for months ’cause she’s so outspoken and in your face about the bible! Take a look at some of her other videos too!

  • Blast it, I know that music from somewhere. Aaaargh.

  • Alexis

And you will keep hearing that music in your mind all day, and all week!

  • Someone needs to add this to Urban Dictionary!

  • she’s… kinda creepy.

  • Interesting, I have an opportunity to quote this facepsalm inducing passage (from an actual psalm even) for the second time in a week:

Psalm 137:9 Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.

Actually I think the appearance problems can just be attributed to a poor camera and poor lighting to boot. Not that I can blame her, decent gear can get expensive.

  • I’m sure that even Christians would facepsalm if they actually read their holy book.

  • I love her videos! I don’t think facepsalm is too unwieldy, and I’m delighted to have a word to describe what I keep feeling. I, too, am working on reading the bible all the way through for the first time, and wow…
