Maybe You Shouldn’t Always Tell Your Kids the Truth

My favorite comedian Louis CK explains why you shouldn’t always tell the truth about science and the world to your seven-year-old daughter (NSFW language):

She handled it pretty well, I think 🙂

  • That is bloody hilarious. I love Louis CK

  • He is obviously a parent. You can’t make that stuff up. 🙂

  • Beriaal

Didn’t know the guy. He’s hilarious.

  • Claudia

He is awesome and it’s friggen hilarious. I do kinda feel for his daughters though. Can you imagine there being commercial DVDs where your father describes you shitting on yourself in the hall?

  • WishinItWas

Genius! Have all of his specials, and to Claudia… its embarrassing to have that discussed on DVD, but she is 3yrs old …

  • Love love LOVE Louis CK!

  • Two Cents

    wow. this was amazing!

  • My favorite part was the pony bit, where the daughter got bit, and she did research on it to figure out why it happened. That is awesome upbringing, and I hope my kids decide to research things when shit happens. 🙂

  • “I felt the impact tremor under my feet…”

    F’ing hilarious!

  • The guy is brilliant.

  • Tears…tears streaming down my face from the section on arguing with a 3-year-old. He knows of what he speaks (says the dad of a 2.5-year-old).

“Pig newtons? Does it taste like a pork cookie, m-fer?!” Priceless.

Thanks for introducing me to this guy, he’s hilarious and dead-on with the parenting experience. I have argued with my 1-year-old. Yep. Kids will make you crazy.

  • RJ

Funny guy. As a parent of 3 I can appreciate where he’s coming from.

  • Someone once told me that you will never understand the mind of a toddler until you bite into a cookie and get angry that it’s now broken.

I try to keep that in mind with my niece.

  • I liked the bit about how you can’t shit in schools cause pedophiles have ruined that for everyone.

This was a pretty good special, but still not as good as his older one…

  • Joan

This is funny and made me laugh out loud several times. I was gonna share it until it got to 12:26. It’s lunch time. I can’t do that to my friends. 🙂

  • Hemant, thanks for introducing more people to the brilliance of Louis CK. One of the finest comedic minds ever, as far as I’m concerned. And I know you’ve brought it up here before, but the “God” episode of his FX show is one of the best, funniest, and most uncomfortable explorations of religion I’ve ever seen. In fact, I’m going to watch it again now.
