FFRF on The Daily Show Tonight? March 8, 2010

FFRF on The Daily Show Tonight?

The Freedom From Religion Foundation‘s Dan Barker may make a brief appearance on tonight’s episode of The Daily Show.

Segments change depending on the news so it’s not a done deal, but keep an eye out for it tonight.

The question I don’t know the answer to: Why will he be on there…?

Any theories?

  • Why? Because Dan Barker is AWESOME! That’s why!! 🙂 Seriously, I hope it’s not too comical because Dan has a great message, delivers it so well and this is a good shot at a receptive audience.

Dan Barker is brilliant and Jon Stewart is Brilliant. I am a Huge fan of both of them i can’t wait to see what happens.

  • Potco

Just saw the preview and it’s over the mother teresa stamp.

  • Ed

Doesn’t look like it’s going to be complimentary…

  • matt

probably the mother theresa stamp. but i hope not because he’ll look like an idiot.

  • Luther

I’ll call Pat Robertson and ask, I’m sure he can explain why God would do this. Maybe John Stewart ate some FRENCH fries in his youth (or maybe his grandfather did).

  • Hopefully a follow up later in the week on The Colbert Report…

  • Demonhype

Too bad I’m stuck with the day-late internet viewing. I WISH I had cable!

  • Meatyphil

Well, that sucked. Does he really think there’s a Catholic conspiracy? I do wish they had given him some time to actually make his point about Mother Teresa not being much of a philanthropist, though. Would’ve been interesting. Seems like he was just dismissed out of hand.

  • Andrew

Oh, and he looks like an idiot.

While I don’t think Mother Theresa deserves a stamp, I don’t think it’s something to focus on. And I certainly don’t think the Catholic Church is involved in some government conspiracy to…get a stamp made. Yeah.

That said, the conspiracy montage was hilarious.

  • I say this as an atheist, but man the daily show had a RIGHT to make him look like a fool. Seriously? This is what the FFRF is going after? Mother freakin’ Theresa on a stamp?

No wonder the religious majority looks at us like lepers — we have self-appointed “leaders” that go after petty shit like postage stamps. I hate that people like this are supposed to be representative of me in the wider media.

There’s a reason I’ve never bothered joining an atheist organization — and this guy is the ultimate expression of that reason.
