There are some good ones on the list, but I’m sure I’ve seen funnier ones.

  • I recently saw an ad for one: Thank God I’m An Atheist

  • Physicsguy

I actually enjoyed those, and I plan on buying a couple of them. Did anyone else look at the “Top 20 Christian t-shirts”? I liked, and would wear the one that read, “Jesus would treat gay people with kindness”.

  • Laura Lou

This certainly isn’t a specifically atheist shirt, but I think a lot of people here will appreciate this one. My favorite by far.

“If you’re not OUTRAGED, you’re not paying attention.”

  • Ed

Some of those are fairly clever, but the one I really dislike is the one that says, “Don’t pray in my school and I won’t think in your church.” I understand where they’re going with that, but it’s a blatantly anti-first amendment statement. I know, it’s just a joke, but I fully support the right of anyone to pray in a non-disruptive manner in any school in this country, to whatever god, or gods that they believe in.

Replace the word “pray” with the word “preach”, and I think you’ll have a shirt that much more accurately portrays the views of the vast majority of atheists in this country.

  • the “teach the controversy” shirts own all of these.

  • Nicole C.

This store has some that are pretty good:
The “nothing” shirt is especially nice. It reads “Nothing is your own except the few cubic centimeters inside your skull,” and half of the proceeds go to the Foundation for Democracy in Iran.

  • Lauren

I like this one. It makes people smile before they read the second line.

“Smile! *big smiley face* There is no hell.”

  • medussa

I second the link to the arrogant atheist. I just bought some shirts from there, my favorite being the christian fish on the BBQ…

  • medussa

Of Hemants list I like the first two best by far…

  • ChameleonDave

The worst one is number 11, ‘atheists have morals too’. Why ‘too’? This crappy T-shirt implies that the religious have morals worth the name.

  • I second that, samuel. Here’s the link to the “Teach the Controversy” shirts for those who aren’t familiar. I have the geocentric theory shirt.

  • Richard Wade

I just ordered this one. It’s subtle, it will stimulate conversations and it fits in with my astronomy friends as well.

  • trixr4kids

I have this one in purple:

I’m not very impressed by The Telegraph’s picks.

  • AxeGrrl

I want the first one! 🙂

By not alluding to atheism specifically, it’s much scarier!

(and the myriad of other ‘distrusted minorities’ it will bring to mind probably applies to me as well anyway 🙂

  • Gordon

I’ve got to say my favourite is always this topical one

  • Percival

I’ve always had a soft spot for this one.

  • When I was in high school I came out as an atheist to my fellow students by wearing a tee-shirt to school I had made at a tee-shirt store that said the following:

“I swear to God I’m an atheist”

I thought it was funny. It caused quite a stir.

I probably wouldn’t wear something like that now, but as a 17 year old kid, being on top of the world, it seemed to fit.

  • Carlie

Wow, those arrogant atheist shirts are beautiful. I love the orange one with the Russell quote down the side.

Also love the teach the controversy shirts.

  • cassiek

My favorite is one I bought from Cafepress with the NY skyline featuring the WTC and the caption “Imagine No Religion.” I had to buy a second one for my son.

  • Wow! I wouldn’t wear any of those. I think I’ve seen better ones too.

  • I like some of those. My favorite:

  • My favourite is from

    “I Love Cheeses”

  • Staceyjw

Here’s a link to a lot of good ones, about 30 pages worth- hundreds of shirts:

    My favorite one is here:
(I saw this one on “Conversational Atheist” at dinner the other day)

Some of the ones about “teaching the controversy” are so confusing- a few I still don’t get! I think that most of them would lead a believer to think that you agree with them, at first anyway. They are still cool though.

  • Chief

I’ve always liked “God made me an atheist. Who are you to judge his decision?”

“Did God make Man in his image, or did Man make God in his?”

  • J Myers

…I really dislike is the one that says, “Don’t pray in my school and I won’t think in your church.” I understand where they’re going with that, but it’s a blatantly anti-first amendment statement.

No, it isn’t “anti-first amendment.” It isn’t advocating a prohibition on prayer in schools; it’s merely posing a voluntary proposition for theists to consider. Of course, the rest of the world hardly has any obligation to abide by the US constitution, anyway, whatever merit they might see in it.

  • muggle

Thanks, Lauren, for the link. I’ve been wanting that one for the longest time and you should see how ragged my current smiley face tee (that just reads peace) is.

Former Composer, I used to wear a button that read that. It’s a great conversation starter.

And makarios I will have to get two of those for my daughter and grandson for Christmas which we celebrate as happy winter. They are both cheese fiends!

  • Dolce

“My God can kick your god’s ass”

  • JJR

I find I only wear my more explicit Atheist shirts to Atheist Meetups. Stuff I wear in among the general public is more oblique, like my shirts that spell out “atheist” in Greek lettering (ATHEOS, the Greek word for atheist); I have another one that is a quote from Seneca, and another one from Emma Goldman on independent thinking being the greatest “sin” in society, etc. The shirts I have that say “Atheist” or “Godless” are what I wear to Meetups only.

  • I really want this one but I have to admit that I don’t have the cojones to wear this one.

  • Tim Bob

I cant give you all a direct link cause im at work and its not accessible here. For those that really like atheist shirts but dont want them to look like iron on transfers go to myspace and look up my buddys clothing, “hexedclothing” its good stuff. there’s some pretty offensive shirts as well as some tasteful ones.

  • This ( is one of my favorite atheist t-shirts. It’s a powerful take on the “Imagine no religion” theme. Check for the full selection of atheist tees.

  • Elizabeth

I have a shirt with a cartoon of Noah’s Ark and above it says “Seems likely.”
I think it’s brilliant and have worn it to my high school.

  • Here is a link to my favorite atheist store. The best collection I’ve seen of great atheist shirts etc. Has lots of basic science themed stuff too.

    Aristotle’s Muse

  • chris

I just bought “the four horsemen” shirt. My first atheist t shirt purchase!
