Guess Who Said It?

I quote from her posting:

Obama legally kills babies and now he can legally kill Grandmas!

Hitler did this. He killed the weak, the sick, the old, and babies and races/religions he didn’t like. Hitler also controlled the media. (Where’s the public debate between scientists on “Climate Change/Global Warming?”) Hitler had the VW bug invented as the state car. What will O’s nationalized car be? So… kill off the weak. That’s the plan. Tax the workers to death. Erase the middle class. Sounds like the evil governments we studied in high school long ago. The evil governments were : kings, oligarchies, facist, socialist, and communist. Now it’s called the Obama Administration. Sounds like candy or a rock band.

Done guessing?

If you picked former Saturday Night Live cast member Victoria Jackson, you’re right!

The last few words in her piece has a second (hilarious) meaning I don’t think she picked up on…

"The way republican politics are going these days, that means the winner is worse than ..."

It’s Moving Day for the Friendly ..."
"It would have been more convincing if he used then rather than than."

It’s Moving Day for the Friendly ..."

    Too… much…. crazy…. effing… bible…

  • Man…it’s a good thing Victoria Jackson isn’t at all relevant to anyone anywhere.

  • It’s a shame she went crazy. She was kind of funny.

Gee, and I only thought she had the voice of an airhead.

You know something I’m very glad I don’t live in the US. I don’t think I could handle the level of stupidity there.

I’m Canadian and I now live in Australia. Both these countries have the type of health system that Ms. Jackson is going on about and bagging. Sure they have problems but euthanasia? Probably our key reason for issues is that our health professionals keep moving to the US so they can get paid more.

So let me get this straight. Public health care = euthanasia. So what does non public health care mean? If you can’t afford it, screw you? You only get to live if you’re rich enough or have a good job?

Why can’t some people in the US see this? How heartless. I can’t count the many times I recall seeing on TV, in the US, some family begging for help from the general public because their child had cancer or some other disease and it was going to make them lose their house and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

So this is a better system? Right.

  • Victoria who?

  • Damn, I was sure it was Michele Bachmann…

  • «bønez_brigade»

Did you know that Cap & Trade will allow the government to regulate how long we take a shower?

Will they send out a team of jack-booted thugs to turn our knobs when those short seconds of shower time have expired?

  • Zar

Yes, she’s crazy, but I bet her bizarre rant sounds pretty funny when she says it in her high-pitched chipmunk voice.

(Also, the Nazis were very anti-abortion, at least as far as Germans were concerned. They had an entire government organization devoted to preventing it.)

  • Stan

I thought it was Bachmann, too…

    Is this a Poe?

Can people actually be that stupid?

I’m starting to reach a level of fatigue on the health care issue. These morons/liars seem to have endless access to the media to spew their garbage again and again.

They say socialised medicine as if its going to be jackbooted government bureaucrats in charge of your healthcare, as opposed to the current option of jackbooted private industry bureaucrats in charge.

The fact is that a national health system like that of Canada and the UK works. When i get ill, i call my doctor, make an appointment and go see them. They refer me to a specialist if needed. At no point does anyone decide whether or not i get treated unless they are a doctor/nurse. I deal solely with trained medical specialists. It costs me nothing, no matter what is wrong with me.

Even my drug prescriptions are dirt cheap.

My girlfriend has a condition called fibromyalgia. She is on about 28 pills a day and will be for the rest of her life. These pills cost her £10 a month (i.e. less than $20). She sees her doctor perhaps every third week, sometimes for checkups, sometimes with queries, sometimes for really quite minor things.

Our unlimited access to medical care and expertise means that we can kill off most illnesses or conditions before they get bad (and hence expensive). We can consult our doctors before we take up a new sport or exercise regimen. We can talk to our doctors about losing weight or beating cholesterol. Because its free.

As a person on a lower management kinda job, there is no way i would trade the British system of healthcare for the American one.

The very fact that you have 40million people with no health cover is nothing less than an appalling scandal.

Unreasonable people believe what they want to believe without thinking… sad but true.

  • What Would Professor Pat Pending Do?

Wow. She studied in high school?

    I’m stunned.

Yes, people can be that stupid. My mother calls to tell me about the devil in office all the time. One of her rants was about “Obama’s secret eugenics program in Iowa or Kansas or one of those states.” Her tirade was almost verbatim what Jackson said. Most times I can ignore her, but that one stuck in my mind due to the insanity–I don’t agree at all, but it’s hard to shake that kind of stupid.

  • Julia Sweeney and Victoria Jackson. Same show, different ends of the spectrum. What was in that SNL water?

  • Tony

I think that this lady could well use some public healthcare. For a free psychiatric evaluation. I quite sincerely feel she may be unwell.

  • I had a huge crush on her back in the day (she was pretty cute), but I can’t crush on an utter madwoman.

@gribblethemunchkin. It’s no Poe. She’s on video being crazy.

  • stogoe

It’s not like she ‘went’ crazy. She always was. I mean, we always thought she was playing a character on SNL, and not just being herself. But apparently that’s all there is.

On a related note, I love how the argument against a public-run health care option is always “it’s awful, terrible, overpriced, and will refuse you life-saving care, and the insurance companies can’t possibly compete with that!”

  • Trixie

I don’t think she realized the deer-in-the-headlights-frozen-smile look was really the store owner searching frantically for the security buzzer behind the counter.
I guess according to Victoria there are no grandmama’s and babies in Canada, since we have Medicare and legalized abortion. As a result of Medicare, we also have government sponsored anti-smoking programs and laws(cigarettes are super expensive and can’t be openly displayed in stores, cigarette packaging depicts the dangers of smoking, and many provinces do not allow smoking in public places), loads of information and intervention regarding FAS, and seatbelt, child carseat and helmet laws that I just don’t see in the States.

  • Miko

I don’t get it. I know that Obama was talking about executing detainees held at Gitmo without trials (and, more recently of continuing to hold them indefinitely even if they did have trials and were found not guilty by a court), so he’s definitely every bit as evil as Bush was, but what has he said about killing the elderly? I know that Britain denies many types of medical treatment to the elderly, so perhaps that’s an oblique reference to his plans for health care rationing? Perhaps the answer is at the original post, but I can’t bear more than one paragraph of that drivel right now…

  • llewelly

Can people actually be that stupid?

You need to stop looking for a ground floor of stupidity below which no-one can go. There’s no such floor. It’s stupid all the way down.

  • The reader comments to her post also seem to be of much the same mind. “Thank you, Victoria!” and “I am enjoying your political awakening!” and “spot on” and “Way to tell it like it is Victoria!”

    Holy crap. That’s just frightening.

Your comment wins the health care debate for ever. Its like the opponents of healthcare have abandoned all appearance of reason and are just flinging shit and hoping desperately that something sticks.

The very idea that anyone should be remotely concerned about the fate of the healthcare insurance companies is itself, very silly.

Is Jackson’s piece like the political equivalent of a Gish Gallop?

Elsewhere in the piece she says that liberals don’t support health care out of concern for people’s well-being because we don’t visit hospitals and give 10% of our income to charity. Riight…

So… kill off the weak. That’s the plan. Tax the workers to death. Erase the middle class.

If Jackson is literally claiming that Obama wants to kill of the weak, doesn’t that make her piece libel?

  • Gabriel

When you don’t have truth or facts on your side you might as well make up the biggest and most outrageous lies you can. Why bother with the truth when you can just say anything that you think will help your cause.

  • JSug

She should put that to music and play it on her ukulele. Am I the only one who never really thought she was funny? I thought they always gave her the “dumb-blonde” roles on SNL because that was the only part she was capable of playing.

I checked back on the site, and I believe they deleted my comment there. I did accidentally do the e-mail wrong the first time, but it worked the second time.

Most of the comments are unbelievable. One person’s comment was marked down (the number scoring thing on the side) because they talked about their difficulties with private insurance, with no vitriol.
