Return of the Crocoduck

Remember when you heard Kirk Cameron first mention the Crocoduck on national television as the definite proof against the theory of evolution?

(In case the full impact of the creature hasn’t hit you yet, just take a look at it once more:)

What was going through your mind when you saw that?

  • Oh my god, he’s reached the bat$#!% crazy banana-nightmare levels of his partner Ray Comfort?
  • He did not just do what I think he did, did he? Did he?!
  • WTF?! Someone rewind that.
  • I can never watch Growing Pains again…

However, if you’re like Josh Engen, your first thought was “I need to snatch up!”

And now, he’d like to turn it into a site poking fun at bad science in general.

He needs help, though.

If you’re interested in writing for the site, please send your ideas, writing samples, or general information to Josh at josh.JPG.

Let’s see if we can have some fun with this 🙂

So much ridiculousness in that interview.

Bill O’Reilly claims he “won” his “debate” with Dawkins? That would be the “debate” in which O’Reilly said, “There’s 24 hours in a day. That’s science.” or something to that effect, and which, if I recall, wasn’t even set up as a “debate” at all, but as an interview.

The fact that FOX is bringing on people like Cameron and Stephen Baldwin as political commentators says a lot about the level of political discourse on that station. The lowest common denominator just keeps getting lower.

  • Absolutely BRILLIANT idea to snatch up that domain.

I gotta think about this! Thanks!

The animal is clearly misnamed. I recognized it immediately as the creationists’ favorite symbol, the Crocoshit.

  • Aw, man. Next time Ray Comfort or Kirk Cameron spits out another nonsensical argument I need to snatch up the domain for it… Anyhow, good luck to the owner. My small advice is to keep it simple. Make a FAQ. Give an email that people can sent questions, comments or suggestions (not your personal email. Again, keep it simple. Just lay out what the arguments are, what reason, if any, they have for their argument and then proceed to explain what merits the argument has (if any) and why it’s completely wrong. 😀

@Wes: I cringed when O’rly said that he won the argument because Richard Hawkins couldn’t explain everything. I was almost shouting “HOW DID GOD MAKE IT?!!?!” at my screen. Non-answers are not answers.

Where does a guy go after the crocoduck? I mean, if you go back on this stuff you look like an idiot, and if you go further you look like an idiot. Sooner or later he’s going to be majorly discredited, and then what? He’s relatively young; that means he could be a laughing-stock for decades. Sad way to end a public career–being remembered for the crocoduck.

I do think the creature is kinda cute though.

  • Mythprogrammer

Already emailed him to see if he wanted help programming the site 😛

  • It’s cute and I want one!

  • Vincent

Yeah, he’s got to sell plushy crocoducks.

  • I wish you’d warned us he was on O’Falafelhead’s show. I almost tore out one of my eyes before I was able to get control.

My favourite moment was the part where Cameron says “God exists. It’a no-brainer …”

At which point I thought “Well you got that right at least.”
