The latest cross-shaped MP3 player — the TEO MP-301 — holds 1 GB of music and costs $49:

According to Joshua Fruhlinger of Engadget:

… According to reviews, the player has some serious interface issues and a weak screen, but if crucifixion is your thing, you can’t go wrong with this necklace cross-cum-MP3 player. Or is that the other way around? Is this an MP3 player that’s also a cross? Anyway, there you have it: the cross-shaped MP3 player, indeed.

The more important questions:

    • What songs will they not play?

    • What happens if you hold the iGods upside-down?

  • Why do I have a sudden urge to play Tetris?

(Thanks to Bjorn for the link!)

  • why does this not surprise me…

  • Ok, I can’t seem to stop giggling about the Tetris remark, and my husband thinks its a great idea! He wants to get one and see if he can play Highway to Hell or Runnin’ with the Devil on it.

    Christians can be so dorky.

  • Christians overcompensating again. Wonder if they’ll have a touch version – ooh that’s icky!

It’s nice to see that after 2000 years, industries can still find new and inventive ways to capitalize on the ignorance of the Jesus-ites.

OMG! It’s so holy! It’s a cross player!!
I wonder if Jesus had one?
It surely would guide me in Christian rap prayer –
My librul jazz soul would be won.

If the shape of my laptop could be cruciform,
    I’d be a devoted believer.
My iphone could miracles better perform,
If it had a cross-shaped receiver.

No wonder God gives us these configurations,
    Infused with His sacred intent.
The cross will smite musical abominations,
And cause lesser shapes to repent!

The whole upside down cross as a satanist/anti christian sign is pretty new. It used to symbolize a saint (I think it was Peter) who, according to the story, had his cross, as in the one he was being killed on, put upside down because he didn’t think he was good enough to die like Jesus. I know an old nun who wears an upside down cross.

Though it is funny that the cross MP3 apparantly works like crap and has very little memory (I bought my younger sister an MP3 player for the same price with three times that memory).

I think I’ll hold out for the six-sided Star of David model .. but (drum roll) only if I don’t have to pay retail.

Why do I have a sudden urge to play Tetris?

That’s true blasphemy! That piece would take at least 6 squares to make, not 4! You’re not a true Tetris player.

  • Oh, Christians and their ubiquitous of their torture device of choice. It would be adorable that they are completely unaware of how disturbing their morbid fascination is, if they didn’t try to force into every nook and cranny of our society, and call it “morally superior” all the while.
