Religion in Utah? Never!

I know you had your fingers crossed, but the Utah House of Representatives voted against removing “Under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance:

The House voted 58-5 in favor of a resolution sponsored by Rep. Kerry Gibson, R-Ogden, that reaffirms the state’s commitment to “under God” from those who would want it stripped from the Pledge.

Five Democrats voted against the measure. It now goes to the Senate.

Anyone want to take a guess as to how that vote will go?

  • I live here in Utah, and I love asking people who are LDS how long they would last under a theocracy run by the christian right. If any one religious group in America should support separation of C & S, you’d think it would be the Mormons. They see themselves as mainstream and are shocked to find out that the members of the First Baptist Church of Hot Coffee,Texas thinks that they are sons of satan.
