Minorities Representing Majorities

At least 40 politicians at the local, state and national levels are religious and ethnic minorities.

You can see them all at this terrific Google Maps mashup from News21.

My state of Illinois is quite disappointing… we have no one! Then again, we’re responsible for Barack Obama. That more than makes up for it.

One edit should be made. The map lists Pete Stark (D-CA) as an atheist. While technically correct– he doesn’t believe in a Supreme Being– he identifies himself as a Unitarian.
