In the next week, I’ll be participating in two church events that I think are pretty noteworthy.
On Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m., I will be at the Midwest Emergent Gathering conference. Pastor Mike Clawson will be interviewing me on stage and we’ll be discussing a variety of topics including the good and bad things churches do, how atheists/Christians can work together for common goals, and many others. Helen Mildenhall will also be at the conference, leading a breakout session Friday afternoon.
On Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m., I will be at Willow Creek Community Church for their mid-week New Community service. Willow Creek is one of the largest churches in the country, as well as the most influential.
I will be joining Pastor Randy Frazee for his sermon that evening– this will most likely also be an interview, though I imagine the crowds between Saturday’s event and this one will be extremely different. This event is free, so if you’re in the South Barrington, Illinois area, come on down (even if you’re an atheist)! I believe the event will be streamed online that night… if not live, then shortly after.
If you come to either event, please say hello before taking off!
Suggestions/advice/tips are always appreciated.
