(Garrison Keillor, take some lessons.)
The rest of it is amusing, too. Go read it!
We humans sometimes forget our place in the world. We think that we’re just animals like all the other creatures, instead of created in God’s image. This is just left-wing propaganda. Be sure to guard your minds against it, to eschew this worldly nonsense. Take as your example that paragon of morals in this country, Ted Haggard. When the heathen Richard Dawkins tried to soil his mind with the doctrine of Darwinism, he screamed, “You’re saying my children are animals!” Indeed, Ted Haggard’s children are not animals. They are little gods, as the bible so clearly tells us. Lewis Thomas once said, “Ants are so much like human beings as to be an embarrassment. They farm fungi, raise aphids as livestock, launch armies into war, use chemical sprays to alarm and confuse enemies, capture slaves, engage in child labor, exchange information ceaselessly. They do everything but watch television.” What Thomas missed were those great products of the human mind that set us apart – language, government, art, and, especially, religion. Religion. You don’t see ants going to church, the little infidels.
