This Cello Concerto Honors Bangladeshi Bloggers Killed for Their Atheism

It’s not every day I get to post an orchestral piece about atheism.

Composer Dorian Wallace recently premiered a new work dedicated to the Bangladeshi bloggers who have been slain by religious terrorists in recent years. “Manusa,” a cello concerto, includes Bengali rhythms and music often played at funerals.

Nicholas Finch of the Louisville Orchestra is the cellist performing the piece in the video below:
