Congrats to Richard

Congratulations to resident advice guru Richard Wade for winning the “Best Chat with the Bishop, Mishies, or Other Church Leaders” poll at the Main Street Plaza blog! I know it’s an online poll, but the accolade doesn’t surprise me at all.

One of his columns must have stood out to the ex-Mormons at that site in order to be nominated in the first place.

Thanks to everyone who voted. And feel free to share your love for his columns in the comments ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Richard is astonishingly nice in his columns and comments at Friendly Atheist. As a generally non-nice person, I stand in awe of that ability.

Well, I’m already a confirmed fan-girl (fan-female? fan-XX? lol) but I will add my congratulations on a well deserved award. I’m continually amazed as his compassion. Where many of us (and I include myself) would be combative and aggressive in our advice, Richard always seeks to maximize both honesty and harmony. I thank him on behalf of the many theist families and loved ones who will never know that they still have a son/daughter/husband/wife/friend in their life because of Richard.

  • @Claudia don’t call yourself a fan-female, it’s devaluing yourself as a human. Have some respect.

And well-deserved, too! I can only envy his wisdom and sensitivity.

Richard is awesome! He is my favorite advice columnist hands down ๐Ÿ™‚ I love how supportive he is of people who deal with much more rejection for their lack of faith than I have ever had to deal with, and balances perfectly unwavering support for their position with good advice for maintaining family/friend/work relationships. Go Richard!

Hooray for Richard! Congratulations, and thanks for writing such a great column.

  • Congratulations Richard. Your well crafted words of wisdom are extremely important in a blogosphere dominated by those with much less water under the bridge. Keep up the good work and be sure to pace yourself and always find a way to make it fun.

Congratulations, Richard! I really enjoy your columns, they are so full of compassion and thoughtprovokingly honest and helpful, not just for the original writer, but for the rest of us as well.
Thank you for the hard work.

  • Bravo, Richard! The award is well-deserved. I’m so glad you’re getting recognized for the fantastic service you provide, both in the actual advice and in the example you set to others.

    Congratulations – and thank you.
